Site Up & Some News
Written by Aclaina
Sunday, 16 September 2007

ImageWell, well, the site is up and running again! Sorry for the long delay, there were some permission problems in the server that wouldn't let me put the site online again. If you find something not working, please report it in the forum and I'll try to fix t whenever I have a little time.

Thanks for your patience all this time, I will never get tired of thanking all the constant support from the moderators that have been so active in the forum while I don't have the time for it. Thanks, gracias, arigato!

Now, straight to the news. I've been thinking how to organize myself with my little free time and I've decided to just begin the development of eWriting for Joomla 1.5, I don't know when it's gonna be released, but I've already started a complete recoding. Well, it's a good new even if it doesn't have a due time, isn't it? ^_^

Hope you keep on hanging around!

Important Notice!
Written by Aclaina
Monday, 09 April 2007

ImageSorry for not being around lately, answering the forum posts or distributing test versions, not even answering the PMs or mails, but I have some important news to share with you all.

Many of you have read about my freelance job because of the lack of work in my country and in my hometown. Along all the past years I've been looking for a stable job with no luck at all, struggling to be heard and to be recognized for my knowledge and not to be discriminated for being a woman. Well, guess what?

I FOUND A JOB!

This mean my free time is reduced more than ever, I won't have as much time to dedicate to eWriting or Missus, organize Test versions, language files, etc. But this doesn't mean I'm leaving my beloved projects. No way. I don't want them to die and be forget. Now that I'm organized with my times and schedule, let's try to re-organize this little projects. For this to not die I really need your help and collaboration. What we need to keep the projects alive are developers! So I'm willing to lead two Developer Teams, one for eWriting and another one for Missus. To join the team you need to have some basic knowledge like PHP, MySQL and a bit of Joomla framework (1.0.x and/or 1.5.x). Beside that, you need to have some commitment with the project, finish your task on a reasonable time and care about it.

Without any extra help, I won't be able to keep this projects and I'll have to resign to them... just that thought makes my heart ache. So come on, people, if you have this acknowledge and want to be part of a little freelance project, send me a PM with your full name and contact data (mail, MSN, Skype, etc) indicating in wich project you want to get involved (eWriting or Missus)

Thanks to the moderators and the Test Teams that have been answering the forum posts and bearing with the site during this time. Love you, guys!

2? Anniversary
Written by Aclaina
Friday, 08 December 2006

Image The second anniversary of this place has arrived so quick. And as usual, with a template change. The projects have grown significantly in these two years, and all this thanks to a big amount of people that has supported them and helped in their development. So let's make a resume. Thanks to:

  • Missus Test Team that have endured the development process, betatesting my experiments and making remarkable suggestions to make Missus a great PMS.
  • eWriting Test Team that have supported me to move forward in the development of the project when it was in a stuck.
  • To all the third party developers that have integrated this projects into theirs.
  • To all the translators who have submitted their language files.
  • And to all of you who is always supporting this projects.

Ok, no double neither single release this time. It was a headache last year with the double release anniversary. Let's make something simpler.

Report of Project Status:

eWriting 1.2.2 RC has been sent to Test Team on November 23th, with no reports yet. Or everyone has been really busy with the festivities or everything must be working fine (or they havn't received any mail because of Missus mail bug) I'm trying to make this version as stable as possible since this will be the last one for Joomla 1.0.X. Due to the upcoming Joomla 1.5 version and all the changes involved in the codebase, I've taken a hard desicion: I'll recode the whole eWriting from scratch for Joomla 1.5. I thought at first I could do it to support J1.0.x and J1.5, but it's impossible. It would only make the code messier than it is right now. And I think the new Joomla deserves a new eWriting. I would appreciate any kind of help for this major step, testers and coders are welcome.

Missus 1.1.1 Beta is about to be released to Test Team with some little improvements and all the reported bugs fixed. I suppose this will be the last Missus version for Joomla 1.0.X, it just needs some little touches to make it work with Joomla 1.5, so it'll be a light transfer from one to the other.

Happy Annyversary!

And by the way, Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, Happy Hannuka, Happy Mother Earth Day and if I forget any festivity, I wish you to be happy on that day too.

Cheers!

BTW, Do you like the boxes? ^_^

Missus 1.1
Written by Aclaina
Monday, 09 October 2006
Missus 1.1 And finally here it is, after so many testings, I'm glad to introduce you to Missus 1.1 with many improvements and bug fixes included.

Many, many, so many features included, like:
  • Mark messages as Read/Unread and mark replied/forwarded messages
  • Allow to save messages as draft
  • Acknowledgement of Receipts
  • Allow users to set their own config and
  • Allow users to create contacts lists
  • Display CB or JB avatars on messages
  • And all that comes with a tiny BBCode editor with smilies!

I'm quite satisfied with all the improvements, and I know many of you will be as well. The module is updated too, removed unused stuff and added links to user config and contact, so you can customize it as you want, along with an update of the plugin for Community Builder 1.0.1 and a hack for Joomlaboard 1.1.3

My big "Thank you" goes to Missus Test Team wich have been suffering the ups and downs of the betatesting: Cédric Frayssinet (aka Cédric), Florent Nouvellon (aka Florut), justit, Marius (aka M.M.M.), Mischa The Evil, Moran (aka ymca), Stéphane Leininger (aka phaphane), Stuart Hunter and Tony Khadiss. Your thanks should go to them, Missus won't be as stable and reliable without their testing skills.

You can grab your copy of this version in the Download section, along with the module, plugin and hack. Go to the Read More link for further details on how to update from previous version.

Have fun!

Two Emergency Patches
Written by Aclaina
Friday, 01 September 2006
ImageDue to the last changes in Joomla 1.0.11, I've made this two patches in a rather quick way, so I can't assure they'll work perfect, but just fine.

Both patches are disposed in Joomla order directory, just unpack them on a local folder in your computer and then upload the files as they are to your Joomla root folder. The files won't override any existent Joomla file, just the ones that needs to be updated. For eWriting there's also a SQL file that you should execute in your server database manager. This Second Fix Patch includes also the fixes from the First Fix Patch plus some bugs corrections.

Report of Projects Status:
  • Missus 1.1 Beta has been sent to Test Team with really good feedback. So I'll move to the next step of development after I finish eWriting Beta
  • eWriting 1.2.2 Beta is still in development... let's say it's rather an Alpha than a Beta, so the Test Team haven't had the chance to test anything yet. Laughing But they'll really soon.

That's all folks, I really recommend to upgrade you eWriting and Missus versions with the Fix Patches. See ya!
